Well, got news from the doctor yesterday about my knee. It seems that since I have osteoporosis, a joint replacement and fusion are out of the question. The only good news was that I don't have osteonecrosis. He told me I had two choices: to live with it the way it is, or to have it amputated. I told him that I wanted a second opinion and that I wasn't giving him an answer on my decision until I got that second opinion. They are supposed to call me with an appointment in the next few days.
Please add my family for thoughts & prayers. My father Daniel H. Mabe passed away on January 3. He was the backbone of this family. Mom& Dad were married for forty - six years. I can only imagine what it would be like to have the person that is usually right by your side to be suddenly gone. Dad had a massive heart attack.He was always a true Appalachia fan.
I recently went through the same thing with my family. My Mom and Dad were married for over 30 years and had been sweethearts their whole lives. Dad also passed from a heart attack. I feel for you and hope things go well. If you need someone to talk to, I'll listen. My thoughts are with you.
Thanks man. I appreciate that. I'm very thankful for living in the area in which i live. everybody has shown so much heartfelt sympathy. I am really thankful to everyone.
please keep my family in your prayers, we just found out this week that my papaw has prostate cancer.
bellyright - my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I also lost my father to a heart attack when I was very young.
ladywave_53 - Both my grandfather and grandfather-in-law had prostate cancer last year so I know what you are going thru as well. Good luck and hang in there, depending on the severity of it, it is not too bad to get rid and is the most common type of cancer in men 50-70 and is very treatable as long as it was detected early enough. Again I wish your family luck in his upcoming procedures.
just wanted to fill everyone in on what is going on. my sister is having a tough time right now. we went yesterday for another bone marrow test and we got to go thursday for another petscan. so please keep us in your prayers.
My 25-year-old friend, Kadesha Baker lost her battle to ovarian cancer Wednesday morning. She leaves behind a husband and young son. Keep them in your thoughts.

"The Rev. Timothy Garret Elkins, 48, died on April 7, 2008. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of services today at the J.W. Adams Combined School Auditorium. Tim's going home celebration will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the school auditorium. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dotson-Elkins Cemetery, Pound, Va. Baker Funeral Home, Pound, Va. is in charge"

So sad to hear. He was a great husband and father. Helped keep stats for the wildcats on friday nights. He will surely be missed.
